Don Brittain

Don is a principal engineer at NVIDIA, where he works at the convergence of AI and real-time 3D graphics. He's been involved with 3D interactive graphics for quite some time, having been one of the original architects and implementers of 3D Studio Max and a founder of Instant Effects, a provider of stereoscopic 3D real-time production software. Prior to that he served as vice president of research at Wavefront Technologies. Early in his career he held academic positions at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton NJ and at SUNY Stony Brook.

Majenta Strongheart

Majenta Strongheart is an emerging designer from San Francisco, California, working at the intersection of design, social innovation, science, and fine arts. She is interested in socially positive design and collaboration; focusing on the ways design thinking and problem solving can contribute to a diverse range of conversations. Through her work Majenta aims to spark curiosity, provide access to new topics, and encourage interaction. Majenta thrives to be a positive contributing member to her community and has received numerous accolades including the SAIC Excellence in Leadership in 2016 and the Idea Generation Grant 2015. She has had work featured at the De Young Museum in San Francisco and Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan. 

Erika Earl

Erika Earl is an Audio Engineer with over a decade of experience in designing, servicing, and maintaining audio electronics for professional recording studios. Her career highlights include, Director of Hardware Engineering at Slate Digital, Head of Technology / Sr. Technical Engineer at LA's legendary Village Recording Studios, and a position on The Advisory Council for the Producers & Engineering Wing of The Recording Academy. Erika is working on the new frontier of spatial, immersive and interactive ambisonic audio.

Shiveesh Fotedar, PARC (guest skype)

Shiveesh is a Design Technologist, with a background in Electrical Engineering and Human-Computer interaction design. His practice is in emerging technologies, specifically in exploring the interaction between users and artificial agents. His diverse background allows him to join disparate and abstract ideas into objective and interactive systems.

Shiveesh's work fuses today’s world with an imagined one, examining technologies and their humanistic effects, the concept of representation of self and the implications that emerge from interactions.

Nicole Shadowen, Mozilla (guest skype)

Passionate about helping businesses implement emerging technologies (Blockchain, AI, IoT, and Robotics) with an emphasis on security, privacy, and ethical practices. Interested in strategic and operational policies to support secure systems design. Currently using futures thinking as a vehicle to address privacy and security within Emerging Technologies at Mozilla.

Christine Barron, Mira (guest skype)

Christine Barron is the Director of Software at Mira, a mobile-first augmented reality company, which recently launched its Prism headset. Christine was drawn to the company’s mission to enhance the way we interact with technology and each other. Prior to joining Mira, Christine worked as a Virtual Reality Associate for Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she developed immersive VR content, including working on an experience for the 2016 Ghostbusters film. She is a self-taught programmer, currently exploring machine learning for artistic applications. Christine graduated with a degree in Animation and Digital Arts from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
